PawPaw Rod — “Lovetap”

Oklahoma-raised PawPaw Rod debuted in 2021 with the groovy A PawPaw Rod EP. His honeyed raps felt novel, with a then-recent move to LA and Oklahoma’s amorphous sound coming together to help PawPaw Rod break boundaries. “And as I got older, I wanted [fans] to be able to dance a little bit more, to have a little more fun with it and move their body,” he told NME last year. Earlier this month, the artist accomplished danceability with Another PawPaw Rod EP. Standout “Lovetap” is buttery smooth and shows off Rod’s ability to iterate on a winning sound.

“I was in the studio with Nick Sylvester and Rome Castille when I recorded it,” PawPaw Rod shares with Audiomack World. “As soon as they showed it to me, it’s like the verses wrote themselves. I immediately made it a priority for the EP.”
